[On this particularly blustery day, Pascal is lounging around in the library and making a general mess of the area around her. There are books laid out all over the table she's sat at, some piled up close by on the floor, everywhere. Even then she keeps getting up to find some other book to add to her collection. Most of the books she's reading through follow the theme of today's weather. Be it wind socks, wind surfing, anemometers, windmills, whatever, she's likely found a book on it. There's one particular book the she's so fully engrossed in that she doesn't even notice when a stack of books slips of the table.

Flying a kite sounds like a blast! There are so many different kinds of kites with different designs to them out there. To Pascal it seems like a great way to make the best out of the weather. Now she could just go and look for a kite in the item shop and see what comes up, but where's the fun in that? She's going to make her own. She makes a few trips to the item shop for some craft supplies, bring her haul back to the library so she can start her work (and make even more of a mess than before).]

[With her work soon finished, Pascal can be found testing out her kite in the plaza. She's running around all over the place, waving her arms like a madwoman in an attempt to get her kite to take off.]

C'mon, you can do it! Three, two, one, go go go!! [We have lift off! Pascal's excitement is short lived however as a particularly strong gust of wind sends the kite swerving downwards, causing it to crash into the ground not long after it took off. Wooden canes and construction paper everywhere.] Aw bananas, the wind completely totaled it... Oh well! [That was just a test flight anyway. Time to make another one!]

[Finally, in the afternoon, Pascal has finished her second kite and has managed to get it airborne. This isn't just any normal box kite though. There are two strings leading from the kite, one is used to keep the kite under control and the other is a pullstring. When Pascal yanks down on the pullstring, confetti starts spilling out of the kite! The wind helps in spreading the confetti around, effectively showering the plaza with multicoloured paper. Hopefully the colourful display will help cheer a few people up, especially given the draft from not too long ago and the number of entries she's seen about people going home over the journals.

While the confetti pouring out of the sky looks impressive, it's going to look a lot less interesting when it's piled up on the ground and being blown all over the place. The books and remaining craft supplies she left in the library don't look all that great either. She should probably figure out how she's going to clean everything up. Maybe. At some point. Later... Feel free to run into Pascal at any point during her day, from messing up the library to flying her kites!]

Oh yeah, duh, I'll stick to the kite thing for now! I dunno how I'd even make a vom-machine.

[... Well now she's thinking up a way to make that happen. This idea sounds pretty gross in her mind, but it's always good to have a second opinion.]

On a scale of 'I'm totally fine' to 'Bleeeurgh', how grossed out would you be if you saw anything powered by projectile vomit?

That's awful! And really gross!

[It's turning his stomach just to think about it.]

Please tell me you're not really going to do that.

Yeaaah, yeah, it's pretty nasty huh?

[If it just makes other people sick, maybe she could design a perpetual vomit machine that way!

... Okay no, no more thinking about vomit.]

Don't worry puzzle lovin' dude, I'll leave all the vomit powered stuff to someone else.

Are you some sort of inventor?

Yeah, somethin' like that.

I bet you'd like talking to the professor too! It's amazing how he can build something out of nothing in a pinch.

He can? Wowzers, it's kinda neat how being awesome at puzzles and inventing stuff outta nothin' go hand in hand, huh?

[Since if both she and Layton are good at puzzles and building then that means there's a trend to it!]

[But Luke, who excels at puzzles, couldn't build his way out of a teabag.]

Um, I guess they do, at least sometimes.

[He holds out the hand that grasps the kite string.] Here, don't you want this back?

[Well maybe if Luke stopped getting stuck inside teabags in the first place he'd have more time to brush up on his inventing.

She eyes the kite for a moment as she ponders something. Hmm.]

I cooould take it back. Or you could have it!

What? Me? I couldn't just take it, it's yours.

Well yeah, but you totally gave me this super cool mini-Shot Cube puzzle! And we couldn't go looking for Prof Layton's junk, so this makes up for it. Plus I could totally make another kite in no time flat, they're easy to smack together.

Hmm. I suppose if you put it that way, it's going to be hard to refuse!

Right?! You've got no choice but to accept it like the good friend you are and stuff!

Thanks. [Luceti aside, Luke didn't have all that many friends at home and fewer of them wanted to exchange gifts.]

No problem! {It's just as well that Pascal finds friendship and making friends totally awesome! Don't worry Luka, she'll always be your buddy.] But you've gotta promise to take it out and let it zoom, fwoosh and loop-de-loop around now n' then, okay?

All right, yes, I promise to fly the kite. [Learning to speak Pascal will be another matter.]

[But wait, there's more!] Pinkie promise? [If there are promises then you have to shake on it. Pinkie shake on it.]

Eh? [One hand is full of kite so he looks at the other hand's indicated finger.]

Yeah, you've got it! [One of her own hands is full of sliding block puzzle, but that won't stop her from reaching over and curling her pinkie around Luke's own finger.]

[This is the oddest handshake he has ever participated in.]

That's meant to seal the promise, then?

[Come on Luke, all kids make a pinkie promise at some point in their lives! Well, all kids and Pascal.]

Yup! Now there's no way you can go and break it, even if you tried.

[Someone probably taught him this thing right here in Luceti but it's gone out of his head by now.]

A true gentleman keeps his word anyway, you know.

Well, your gentlemanly stuff can be an extra layer on the promise. That'll make it way stronger than before!

[So now that they've made the most durable, unbreakable promise ever.]

With that outta the way, I'm gonna head home and try out this puzzle until my hands cramp up, y'okay?
